Sourcing

Standard procurement follows a fixed pattern: a catalogue is searched, an enquiry goes out to known suppliers, a response comes back - or it doesn't. For common components, this works reliably. For specialised, hard-to-find or discontinued products, this pattern reaches its limits. A procurement team searches for weeks for a suitable part, approaches the same handful of suppliers, receives declines or unrealistic lead times - and ends up without a solution, while the project stands still.

The problem is rarely a lack of effort, but limited access to information. A procurement team knows the suppliers it usually works with. What exists outside that known circle remains invisible - even if a suitable solution is already available on the market, from a manufacturer, a distributor or a specialised provider the team simply doesn't know.

This is exactly where we come in. Personal contacts built up over years across industry, trade and procurement allow us to handle an enquiry not through a catalogue, but through a network. Instead of approaching the same three suppliers every time, we activate specifically those contacts relevant to the concrete requirement - across industries, internationally, often outside the usual procurement channels.

The process itself is direct. The enquiry is captured and refined technically - which specification is mandatory, where is there room for an equivalent alternative. The network is then approached in a targeted way, not broadly scattered but focused on the contacts with the highest likelihood of success. From the responses, a short, vetted shortlist of genuinely available candidates emerges - not a list of theoretical possibilities, but concrete, reliable options with lead time and price.

This approach is not a replacement for regular procurement, but its complement for precisely those cases where it reaches its limits: discontinued parts with no direct successor, unusually short-notice requirements, or specifications for which no established supplier exists. In practice, a search process that takes weeks internally can be reduced to a matter of hours.

We offer this service to clients, system integrators and project teams facing a concrete procurement challenge - whether it concerns a single critical part or a larger quantity.
