Conventional surveillance systems carry a structural weakness that is rarely addressed openly. An operator sits in front of several monitors and controls a pan-tilt camera - selecting a section, pointing it at a particular area and waiting. The problem: no one can know in advance where something relevant will happen in the next few minutes. The operator settles on a viewing angle because it seems likely at that moment - and precisely this decision carries the risk. If the event occurs outside the chosen frame, it simply goes unseen. By the time the camera has been redirected, the critical moment has often already passed.
This limitation does not shrink as more cameras and monitors are added - it grows. Switching between several screens inevitably means losing track of what is happening on the others. Attention is finite, and a system that depends on individual, human-selected frames carries that limitation directly through to the result.
Our approach addresses this problem at its root. Instead of a movable camera frame, the entire surrounding space is captured simultaneously - all around, in real time, with no viewing direction needing to be selected in advance. There is no longer an area that is "currently out of shot". Whatever happens is captured, regardless of the direction it comes from or whether anyone happened to be looking that way at the time.
This fundamentally changes the operator's role. There is no longer a need to anticipate where the camera should point next. Instead, the operator can move freely within the fully captured space, change viewing direction at any time, and, if needed, review afterwards an area that was not the focus in the moment itself. Nothing is lost, because nothing was excluded from the outset.
Different configurations are available for deployment on site - from a stationary unit on an extendable tripod, through a vehicle- or motorcycle-mounted variant that delivers data from the point of arrival onwards, to a compact, portable unit for discreet deployment. All variants operate self-sufficiently and can be used independently of existing infrastructure.
Transmission of the full surrounding capture remains reliable even under difficult conditions. The system automatically checks which transmission paths are available and switches between them as needed - satellite, mobile network or local network. If one path fails, the connection continues via another. On the receiving side, several authorised individuals can access the same space simultaneously and independently - each selecting their own viewing direction without limiting the others, displayed via large-scale screen, VR headset or a standard monitor.
For operation, the system can be permanently installed, for example in a control room or in a hall for training purposes, or deployed on a mobile basis - as a trailer, roll-off container or self-driving unit, each fully self-sufficient in terms of power.
We supply and integrate these systems according to your requirements - adapted to the specific infrastructure and situation on site.
